Moravian-Silesian Sinfonietta

I founded the orchestra in 2011 as an orchestral academy in the village of Řepiště, near Frýdek-Místek. Its mission is to train musicians in a symphonic setting and involve them in exceptional projects. The ensemble also includes music school teachers and their talented students, who develop artistically alongside their mentors. The orchestra collaborates with renowned conductors, soloists, dozens of opera singers, and popular singers and instrumentalists.

Throughout its history, the ensemble has performed with many choirs and vocalists, such as Chorus Ostrava, Pop Academy, The Puzzles, Meandry ZUŠ Bohuslava Martinů Havířov, the ARTEP Choir, the VŠB-TUO Academic Choir, and Lenka Dohnalová-Mlynářová’s Chamber Choir.

In 2013, the orchestra recorded a flash mob at the Forum Nová Karolina shopping center, and a year later, Czech Television filmed a documentary about it.

In 2017, it accepted an invitation to perform at a gala concert marking the 750th anniversary of the founding of the town of Paskov. In 2019, it accompanied Tereza Mašková at the Moravian-Silesian Region’s Athlete of the Year event in the Gong Multifunctional Hall in Dolní Vítkovice, and in the same year, it collaborated with DJ Adams. In 2023, together with Adam Uličný, it organized a benefit concert featuring film and popular music to support the Children’s Home in Řepiště.

Through its original project, “Talent Blooms in Spring,” the orchestra nurtures the talents of students at elementary arts schools in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

To mark its anniversary on May 17 and 18, 2026, the orchestra, together with guest artists, performed Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 8 in E-flat major at the Trojhalí Karolina.
